Retailing review from Birkenhead & Wallasey ... Page 1
This month a mystery customer from our team focused on the Merseyside area of Birkenhead & Wallasey with each selected depot being asked for prices for an 185/55R 15 82H tyre to fit a 2004 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2. All depots have been scored on a number of areas of professionalism and accompanied by a general brief summary of each individual visit. |
| Kwik-Fit, 85 Seaview Road, Liscard, Wallasey |
The exterior presentation of this depot including the signage is in good condition and there is no problem with access to the building. I found myself within a spacious parking area and entered the depot with a justified optimism of a good visit.
However the reception and customer area were in a disappointing condition, being both dirty and scruffy in appearance and I was not acknowledged on entry. In fact I had to wait several minutes before a staff member came along to help. Although (like all staff) he was dressed satisfactory but displayed a very negative attitude and seemed to be serving me begrudgingly.
He listened to what I had to say then without any emotion offered me just one brand of tyre - a Marshal at £ 39.00 stating that it was the most competitive tyre he could provide in the size I needed. He offered no further advice and seemed to be eager to end our conversation having showed absolutely no enthusiasm to make a sale. Therefore, based solely on this unfriendly guy's extremely poor sales technique I would not be tempted to buy tyres here. Nice building - shame about the service! |
| National Tyres & Autocare, 84 Mill lane, Wallasey |
Once again I was impressed by the exterior presentation, including distinct clear signage plus access and location, which were of the same high standard. The parking facilities were also spacious.
On entering the depot I was greeted instantly by a staff member in reception and looking around I could see that all staff were smartly dressed in company overalls. The guy who served me was both friendly and efficient but again I was only offered a single brand, a Barum at a fully inclusive price of £ 57.50. He added that the Barum was a very competitively priced premium budget tyre.
The reception and customer waiting area were both in very good condition in fact the interior was just as impressive as the exterior. I was impressed by this guy's eagerness to help and provide good customer service and I would definitely return to this depot to buy tyres in the future. |
